What in the world just happened!
Our California crew, Will, Blaine, Kayla, Tyler, Daniel, Justin, Grace and Aunt Elizabeth, arrived late Sunday evening, June 25, and checked into their campsite to get a well deserved rest. They reported a great time at the family reunion and were ready to move on with their vacation. Monday was a quiet evening with family, complete with barbecue and Dairy Queen (our family's addiction).

Tuesday began the same way with kids in the swimming pool and a trip to Casa Bonita with grandpa and grandma. Casa Bonita is a unique Mexican restaurant spread out over four floors complete with a Mariachi band, water falls and cliff diving, gun fighting, a gorilla being chased around our tables, an arcade, and much more. Great fun and an opportunity to spoil the grandkids "without" dad and mom!!!! But, while we were waiting for Will and Blaine to arrive at their motorhome so the kids could get to bed, Justin started the "puke" patrol by christening Aunt Elizabeth and our car. The rest of the week appeared to vanish into a blur as each one of us joined Justin.
Along with Justin, Tyler christened the motorhome and all of the bedding while poor Will prayed to the commode god so long Friday evening that he was sore for days. With fear of dehydration, the possibility of going to the ER would be thought about and discussed several times. Blaine and I bit the dust Saturday and John joined us on Monday. Elizabeth, Kayla, Daniel and Grace were the only ones to escape illness so they were our helpers and in some instances caretakers. However, now it was time for the crew to head home. At least not all of the adults bit the dust at the same time. Will was still feeling a bit weak on Monday but felted comfortable to start the trek home.
Elizabeth deserves a medal as she stood, covered in puke, at midnight in a campground, tending to Justin in such a loving and gentle way, and for all the cleaning up of the motorhome after some kid that did not make it to an appropriate receptacle. Lest we not forget taking care of all the really nasty laundry these instances created.
The three oldest, Kayla, Tyler and Daniel, stayed with us under the promise of a fun extension to their vacation. Yet on Tuesday, July 4th, none of us were too sure if that was going to happen anytime soon. Because of some great help with the kids on Tuesday, it gave John and I the time we needed to rest. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Kevin for taking the kids all day and evening so we could recuperate. It was exactly what the doctored ordered. Besides, the kids had a blast!!!, and vacation is about to start.
To be continued....... Love and Blessings to all.
PS. Prayer would be in order to cover us on our trip to California, grandma Carroll and kiddies three.

Thanks for playing with the grandkids while we were visiting. Other than the sick part, it was a fun vacation. It definitely showed us how much nicer it is to travel with kids in an RV.
I'm sure the kids will really enjoy the road trip. You will certainly be covered in lots of prayers from our direction. Have fun!!
